五稜郭Goryokaku Star Fort
上空から見ると美しい星形を描く城跡五稜郭。幕末に築かれ、箱館戦争の舞台ともなった歴史の場所です。隣接する五稜郭タワーの展望台からはその全景を一望でき、春には堀沿いの桜が城跡をピンクに染めます。Seen from above, Goryokaku traces a beautiful five-pointed star. Built at the end of the samurai era, it was the stage of the Battle of Hakodate. From the adjacent Goryokaku Tower you can take in the whole shape, and in spring the cherry trees along the moat turn the fort pink.

星形は地上からは分かりにくいため、形をしっかり見たいなら展望台がおすすめです。桜の時期は上から見るピンクの星が見事です。The star shape is hard to grasp from the ground, so the observatory is recommended if you want to see the form — and the pink star in blossom season is spectacular.
桜の見頃はいつ？When do the cherries bloom?
